In the course of the meeting, the Committee Chairman highly appreciated the relations between the two countries, and expressed his hopes that inter-parliamentary relations would facilitate development of stable bilateral relations.
O.Bilorus informed the attendants of the meeting of the changes that took place in the Ukrainian Parliament within the last month. At the request of the British Party, the Committee Chairman commented on the political situation in Ukraine, situation in South Ossetia and Abkhazia, current relations between Russia and Ukraine, and prospects of Ukraine´s joining the NATO Membership Action Plan.
John Grogan, Head of the Inter-Parliamentary Union British Group, stated that Great Britain had positive attitude towards Euro-Integration pursuits of Ukraine. He also stated that bilateral relations between Ukraine and Britain had feasible prospects of further development.
